PresidentŐs Report: No Report

 

TreasurerŐs Report:  Marilyn Currey reported Dec. and Jan. treasurerŐs report had already been already posted. TreasurerŐs report from December 2009 and January 2010 were approved with no opposition. The February TreasurerŐs report had been sent earlier the same day, and will be approved at the next meeting.

 

Secretary Report: Pat filled the Board in on various communications received by the CSPCA.  Dr. Gerard C. Penta sent a letter asking for contributions for the ADSJ Advanced Institute which sponsors programs for judges as well as group judges. The NAIA also sent a letter asking for donations. Alice Fix suggested giving consideration for sending $100.00. We can discuss this at next meeting. A letter was received from AKC denying application for 2 Day CSPCA Regional Specialty Show at Canfield, OH due to pending fine of $200.00. The CSPCA received a fine for late submission of Jan. 2010 judge panel for a show hosted by the CSPC of Charleston, SC. Bobby Birdsong of AKC Plans was contacted and he verified that the fine was paid,  and approval for show was given.

 

Minutes from Dec. 7, 2009 and September 30, 2009 General Meeting were approved.

 

Applicants listed in CSPCA Newsletter for Nov. 2009 and Jan 2010 were approved.

 

Approval was given to accept the bid for the 2012 National CSPCA Show to be held at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel in Tennessee. Dates are Sept. 30 to Oct. 3, 2012. Rooms are $99.00 and free shuttle service from airport to hotel with dogs.

 

Nominating Committee members are: Georgette Schaefer, Dianne Leslie, Bob Rosenberger, alternates Todd Paddock and Chuck Suda. Georgette Schaefer will act as Chairman and will contact the committee members. They are to report back to the Board with their slate by May 1, 2010.

 

Darin Cox will obtain information about the possibility of having Agility Trials in conjunction with our National Show in 2011. The CSPCA may have an option of participating with another club. More information will be obtained at our National show this year with input from the members to see if there is sufficient interest in taking on this project.

 

Due to loss of members, a motion was made and approved to adopt a one-time discount for all membership dues paid between April 1, 2010 and April 1, 20ll in the amount of $10. In order to be eligible for the discount, the entire amount due is it to be paid in on sum. This discount may be combined with the multi-year discounted membership. The CSPCA will also offer a discount for multi-year memberships. That is, if a member pays for more than one year of membership, a discount will be in place. Information will be placed in the Barker, the CSPCA newsletter, and emailed to current and past members. Harry Roach, Membership Secretary will identify recently lapsed members and contact them via mail.

 

The Board voted to ratify their decision for donations to CSP Charitable Trust and CSPCA Trust. A donation of $2500 each has been sent to the CSP Charitable Trust and Rescue Trust.

 

A motion was made and approved that the CSPCA match all donations made to the CSPCA Rescue Trust and the CSP Charitable Trust between April 1, 2010 and December 30, 2010 up to a total of $2500 each. Information will be put in the next newsletter and Barker. The CSPCA will only match individual donations made and will not match funds received by these Trusts through fund raising, sales of merchandise, or grants.

 

Lee Arnold thanked the CSPCA Board on behalf of the CSP Charitable Trust for the recent $2500 donation.

 

Alice Fix reported the coloring books were sent out to the READ program. The committee would now like to send out coloring books to anyone doing Therapy work to children in hospitals. Alice also reported that affiliated clubs reports were due by March 1, 2010 and some clubs may be dropped due to non compliance.

 

Georgette reported that the newsletter offers free advertising for Rescue Dogs and requested that pictures be sent. She will continue to contact rescue groups for photographs of their available dogs.

 

Beverly Wall will attend the Parent Club Conference National Specialty on Aug. 27, 28, & 29, 2010 in Raleigh, N.C.  along with Karen Burgess who will be making a presentation.
