of the CSPCA Board of Directors

The President Karen Kleinhans was at her home in Pawnee, Illinois and the Secretary Jo Ann Redditt was at her home in Alexandria, Virginia.
Board members in attendance were: Karen Kleinhans, President; Jeff Vidt, Vice President, Jo Ann Redditt, Secretary; Marilyn Currey, Treasurer; Eastern Director, Mike Lauer; Central Director, Tim Bergeron; Western Director, Bob Rosenberger; Directors At Large, Gail Garrison, Grace Fritz, Alice Fix, Debby Smith
and Marilyn Vinson. Deb Cooper was absent.
Guests present were: Marge Calltharp, Barker Editor and AKC Delegate, Roy Anderson, Membership Chairman, Sue Anderson, Webmaster and Deanna Lisky, CSP Club of Northern California
The meeting was called to order at 9:05 EST by President Karen Kleinhans.
An out-of-order discussion was allowed concerning Online Advertising so that Roy and Sue Anderson could leave the meeting early. After much discussion, it was determined that the Board is ready to see a more concrete proposal.
President Karen Kleinhans will work with Sue and Roy on a proposal with recommendation for online advertising.
Bob Rosenberger made a motion, seconded by Marilyn Vinson, to approve the minutes of the June 25, 2007 minutes of the Board meeting. The motion passed unanimously by those present.
President's Report - none given
Secretary's Report - none given
Marilyn Vinson made a motion, seconded by Jeff Vidt, to approve both the June
2007 and the July 2007 Treasurer's Reports previously sent to the Board. The motion passed unanimously.
Report of Committees
Marilyn Vinson made a motion, seconded by Alice Fix to approve new wording for the PPM regarding the Presidents' Alliance: "The Affiliated Club President should be a member in good standing of the CSPCA. Any Affiliated Club President is entitled to participate in CSPCA Board meetings, and be on the Affiliated Club Presidents' list if they are a member in good standing of the CSPCA.
Should the Affiliated Club President not meet these requirements, they may appoint another club board member who is a member in good standing of the CSPCA."
The motion was approved unanimously.
Unfinished Business
Debby Smith made a motion, seconded by Mike Lauer to reaffirm Alan Klessig as Chairman of the Ethics Committee and add Deborah Cooper to that Committee.
The motion passed unanimously.
New Business
Bob Rosenberger made a motion, seconded by Gail Garrison to approve the written Barker Financial Policy effective January 1, 2008:
Barker Financial Policy
The Board of Directors has approved a number of changes concerning the Barker. In an effort to make sure everyone is aware of the policies and prices, they are set forth below.
All are in effect at the present time except the $25 charge for ads that are not prepaid, and this
will begin with the Jan/Feb/Mar 2008 issue.
Basic advertising rates are:

Full page b/w $100•
Half page b/w $60•
1/4 page b/w $30•
1/6 page b/w or business card $20•
Spotlight ads $20•
Front cover $500aback cover $450

Inside front & back covers $350An additional $25 will be charged for all ads that are NOT camera ready.
These prices are for prepaid ads. If payment has not been received by the time the Barker is mailed, the cost of the ads will be an additional $25.

People with outstanding balances more than 60 days old will not be eligible

The motion was approved unanimously.
Gail Garrison made a motion, seconded by Grace Fritz, to empanel those who volunteered for a Nominating Committee for Officers and Directors for the 2008 CSPCA election. (The only volunteer who was not selected was Cyndi Skinner who has served in the last couple of years.) Our thanks to those who
volunteered: Eastern Region: Mary Lou Kozielec (Barbara Abel - Alternate); Central:
Rosie Steinke; Western Region: Marilyn Vinson, Chairman (Sue Anderson - Alternate). The motion passed unanimously.
Mike Lauer made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Marilyn Currey. All those present approved.
The meeting adjourned at 9: 53 p.m. EDT.
