The President Karen Kleinhans was at her home in Pawnee, Illinois and the Secretary Jo Ann Redditt was at her home in Alexandria, Virginia.

Board members in attendance were: Karen Kleinhans, President; Jeff Vidt, Vice President, Jo Ann Redditt, Secretary; Marilyn Currey, Treasurer; Eastern Director, Mike Lauer; Central Director, Tim Bergeron; Western Director, Bob Rosenberger; Directors At Large, Gail Garrison, Grace Fritz, Deb Cooper, Alice Fix, Debby Smith and Marilyn Vinson.

Guests present were: Deb Taylor, Presidents' Alliance and Northern Washington CSP Club; Roy Anderson, Membership Secretary; Marge Calltharp, Barker Editor and AKC Delegate and Bob Calltharp, Berkshire Spur Club .

The meeting was called to order at 8:06 EST by President Karen Kleinhans.

Deb Cooper made a motion to approve the minutes of the February 27, 2007 minutes, seconded by Grace Fritz. The motion passed unanimously.

President's Report - None given.

Secretary's Report - None given

Bob Rosenberger made a motion, seconded by Tim Bergeron to approve the April

2007 Treasurer's Report. The motion passed unanimously.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Affiliated Clubs

Grace Fritz made a motion seconded by Gail Garrison to approve the clarified language regarding Barker ads for affiliated clubs: "The CSPCA will offer Affiliated Clubs a one-half page free advertising in addition to a $50 full page ad in The Barker."

The motion passed unanimously.

Marilyn Vinson made a motion, seconded by Debby Smith to approve the clarified language in the PPM regarding the time limits for judging the breed before a nationals assignment section to read: "National Annual Specialty Show Judges Selection Criteria and Balloting Procedures: An individual may only judge a national specialty once every five (5) years. For the purpose of eligibility and balloting rules, 'Conformation' and 'Sweepstakes' are viewed as two different specialty 'events.' Selected judges will agree to limit CSP assignments as such that they do not pass judgment on Shar-Pei at the breed level for six

(6) months prior to the national's assignment. Balloting judges will be two years out." The motion passed unanimously.

Alice Fix made a motion, seconded by Grace Fritz, to approve the final update entitled as 9_1 Updates in the Policy and Procedures Manual. The motion passed unanimously.

Bob Rosenberger made a motion, seconded by Deb Cooper, to approve the same tellers we have used in recent years for the next election. The motion was approved unanimously.

Alice Fix made a motion, seconded by Bob Rosenberger, to approve the re-allignment and assignments for the newly formed Health Committee:

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Grace Fritz made a motion, seconded by Alice Fix, to accept the redraft of the Morison Award.

"William W. Morison Award: In 1995, the Chinese Shar-Pei Club of America, Inc. established a Service Award to honor William W. Morison who dedicated himself and his time to the betterment of the Chinese Shar-Pei and our National Club. In his honor this Service Award is presented to recognize a National Club

member(s) who has achieved the following:

1. The nominee s a member in good standing with the CSPCA, Inc.

2. The nominee must be an individual who has dedicated their time, talent and resources to the betterment of the CSPCA, Inc. This individual is one who has given to the Club reliably and unfailingly.

3. No voting Board member will be eligible for the award while seated on the Board of the CSPCA.

This Service Award is under the purview of the recipients of the William Morison Award, and they are responsible for receiving nominations and selecting future recipients. Only recipients of this award will become voting members for the William W. Morison Award Committee. The CSPCA recognizes the importance of this Service Award, and provides one page per calendar year in the Barker to call for nominations and announce new inductees. Any member in good standing may nominate a CSPCA member for the Morison Award based on the above criteria.

There may be more than one (1) award given each year, and there may also be no award given in certain years. An explanation of 250 words or less as to why the nominee deserves recognition for this award must accompany all nominations. The CSPCA Awards Chairman will act as a liaison in working with the past recipients to facilitate the plaque and presentation process Nominations not selected for this award will be kept secret by all parties and all letters of nomination will be destroyed. Names of recipients, and a brief description of the award, will be listed on the CSPCA website.

The motion passed with one abstention by Deb Cooper.

NEW BUSINESS

Gail Garrison made a motion, seconded by Marilyn Vinson, to divide this year's Purina Parent Club moneys ($1121.25) between the CSPCA Rescue Trust and the CSP Charitable Trust. The motion passed unanimously.

Marilyn Vinson made a motion, seconded by Deb Cooper, to approve the new members printed on page 6 of the January/February 2007 The Barker (with the exception of the Biedermans on whom we have received several objections). The motion passed unanimously.

Bob Rosenberger made a motion, seconded by Marilyn Currey, to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
