of the CSPCA Board of Directors

The President Karen Kleinhans was at her home in Pawnee, Illinois and the Secretary Jo Ann Redditt was at her home in Alexandria, Virginia.

Board members in attendance were: Karen Kleinhans, President; Alan Klessig, Vice-President; Jo Ann Redditt, Secretary; Marilyn Currey, Treasurer; Eastern Director, Mike Lauer; Central Director, Tim Bergeron; Western Director, Bob Rosenberger; Directors At Large, Gail Garrison, Grace Fritz, Deb Cooper, Alice Fix, Alan Klessig, Debby Smith and Marilyn Vinson.

Guests present were: Scott Strong, Hoosier State CSP Club; Kathy Kjetsaa, Berkshire Spur CSP Club, and Domino Alleman, Houston CSP Club .

The meeting was called to order at 9:04 EDT by President Karen Kleinhans.

Alan Klessig made a motion, seconded by Marilyn Vinson to approve the minutes of the July 24, 2006 meeting. The motion was approved unanimously.

President's Report - None given.

Secretary's Report - None given.

Treasurer's Report - Debby Smith made a motion, seconded by Bob Rosenberger to approve the July and August Treasurer's reports. The motion was approved unanimously.

COMMITTEES

Public Education

Alice Fix made a motion, seconded by Deb Cooper, to change the general contact person for the Education Committee to Deena Harvey. The motion was approved unanimously.

Grace Fritz made a motion, seconded by Marilyn Vinson, to approve the "permission" language for linking the website by clubs and rescues: "The CSPCA grants all CSPCA Affiliated Clubs and CSPCA rescue groups to link directly to the CSPCA website and all of the CSPCA Public Education material that is published on the CSPCA website. The CSPCA grants all CSPCA Clubs and CSPCA rescue groups permission to download textual pages (including PDF files) from the CSPCA website for their Club's or group's website use or to reproduce them for educational purposes, but credit lines and copyright notices within the pages must not be removed or modified in any way. All pages must be used in their entirety with all headers and footers intact, and with all the credits to the CSPCA included." The motion was approved unanimously.

Marilyn Vinson made a motion, seconded by Alan Klessig to approve the City Council presentation packet. The motion was approved unanimously.

Deb Cooper made a motion, seconded by Bob Rosenberger, to approve the Calendar of Events with the correction for a change of date for the receiving of Rescue Applications by an approved rescue organization to December 15th. The motion was approved unanimously.

Charitable Trust

Jo Ann Redditt reported by the Trust is working on an auction item for Nationals.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Alan Klessig made a motion, seconded by Marilyn Vinson to approve new members as published in the March/April 2006 and the May/June 2006 Barkers. The motion was approved unanimously.

Alice Fix made a motion, seconded by Deb Cooper to direct our AKC Delegate Marge Calltharp to vote against an amendment limiting delegates from participating in competing organizations due to the broad and vague language.

The motion

passed with Alan Klessig, Jo Ann Redditt, Bob Rosenberger, Tim Bergeron, Alice Fix, Debby Smith, Marilyn Vinson, Grace Fritz and Deb Cooper voting in the affirmative; Marilyn Currey, Michael Lauer, and Gail Garrison voted no.

Marilyn Vinson made a motion, seconded by Bob Rosenberger, to direct our AKC Delegate Marge Calltharp to vote for the language clarification item. The motion passed unanimously.

Alan Klessig made a motion, seconded by Deb Cooper to re-empanel the By-Laws Committee with Marilyn Vinson as Chair and Kim Albrecht and Debby Smith as members. The motion passed unanimously.

Marilyn Currey made a motion, seconded by Deb Cooper to approve the following Nominating Committee: Chair and Eastern Representative Kathy Kjetsaa, Central Representative Debbie Johnson and Western Representative Judy Meitin with alternates Dixie Williams, Marilyn Vinson and Gayle Gold. The motion passed unanimously.

Grace Fritz made a motion, seconded by Bob Rosenberger, to adjourn the meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:50 EDT.
